How a GariGhora trip actually runs

The same booking, seen from both ends — and what happens between accepting an offer and handing over the fare.

How it works

Four steps, whichever side you are on

The same booking, seen from both ends. Nothing happens by phone call alone — every offer, booking and completion is recorded in the app.

  1. Step 1

    Search or request

    Pick Rental Car or Return Car, then enter from, to, date and time. Add a vehicle type and any notes — bags, AC, a child seat.

  2. Step 2

    Compare offers

    Verified drivers respond with a fare. Counter once if you want; there is a cap on rounds so nobody gets stuck negotiating.

  3. Step 3

    Book and ride

    Accept an offer and the booking is confirmed. You see your driver, the vehicle and the pickup point, and can follow the car on the day.

  4. Step 4

    Pay after the trip, then rate

    Hand the agreed fare to the driver in cash when the trip is finished — never before. Then rate each other.

What the platform does at each stage

Every step below is recorded, which is what makes a cash-settled trip auditable for both sides.

  • Offer

    A driver proposes a fare for your trip, or you request a fare on a return trip they posted. Counters are capped at a couple of rounds.

  • Booking

    Accepting an offer creates the booking and locks the fare. Only one accepted offer can exist per trip — the backend enforces it.

  • Confirmation

    A Gari Bhai is assigned, calls both sides, confirms the pickup point and time, and notes anything the driver needs to know.

  • The trip

    The driver starts the trip in the app. You can see basic location and reach support in one tap while it runs.

  • Payment

    The trip is completed in the app and you hand over the agreed fare in cash. The platform commission is billed to the driver, not added to your fare.

  • Ratings

    Both sides rate each other once. Only completed trips can be reviewed, so a rating always refers to a real journey.
Choosing a service

Rental Car or Return Car?

Both use the same account, the same verified drivers and the same full-vehicle booking. The difference is whose journey it started as.

Pick Rental Car when…

  • You have a fixed date and time that has to work.
  • You are travelling out from your city rather than back to it.
  • You need the car to wait, or to make several stops.
  • Nothing on your route has been posted as a return trip.

  • Your timing is a little flexible.
  • You are travelling back along a busy intercity route.
  • You want the same car for noticeably less money.
  • You are happy to post a request and wait for offers.

The insight

Half of every long trip is already wasted

Every intercity rental has two legs. Only one of them carries a passenger. That empty leg is fuel the driver pays for, hours they do not earn from, and a cheap ride nobody gets to take.
