Trust & Safety

Getting into a stranger's car should not feel like a gamble

Verification before the first trip, a fare agreed in writing, a real person watching every booking, and a number to call when something goes wrong.

Before the first trip

What we check, and when

Verification happens once, at registration, and it gates everything a driver can do afterwards.

  1. 1

    Identity

Every driver submits their NID at registration. An account with unverified identity cannot accept a single booking.
  2. 2

    Licence

A valid driving licence is checked against the driver's identity before the account is opened for trips.
  3. 3

    Vehicle

Registration papers are checked against the vehicle added to the profile, including type, model and seating.
  4. 4

    Ongoing standing

Ratings, cancellations and reported problems all attach to the account. Repeated issues cost a driver access to bookings.

What passengers do not need

Opening a passenger account takes a phone number and a name. NID is not required to sign up or to make a normal booking — we ask drivers for documents because they are the ones carrying people.

What we do with documents

Identity documents are used to verify an account and are not shown to passengers. What a passenger sees is the driver's name, photo, vehicle and rating.

While you travel

Nobody is left on their own mid-trip

  • A Gari Bhai on the booking

An operations agent is assigned to your booking, calls both sides to confirm pickup details, and monitors the trip while it runs.
  • Trip visibility

You can see the driver, the vehicle, the pickup point, the destination and basic driver location while the trip is active.
  • Support in one tap

In-app support from the active trip screen, plus a phone number for anything that cannot wait for a message.
  • Problems get recorded

Issues raised during a trip are logged against the booking, not settled informally, so there is a record if it happens again.
Fair dealing

The rules are the same for everyone

  • The fare is fixed when you accept

Offers and counters happen in the app and stop after a couple of rounds. The number you agreed is the number you pay.
  • Ratings work both ways

Passengers rate drivers and drivers rate passengers, once each, and only after a trip is actually completed.
  • No money up front

There is no deposit and no in-app payment, so a cancelled booking never leaves you chasing a refund.
  • Backend enforces the rules

Booking states, offer acceptance and driver eligibility are enforced on the server, not by the app on someone's phone.
Why GariGhora

Built so both sides can trust the trip

Intercity travel in Bangladesh usually runs on phone calls and word of mouth. We keep the flexibility, and add verification, a recorded fare, and someone accountable on the other end of the line.

  • Verified drivers and vehicles

NID, driving licence and vehicle registration are checked before a driver can accept a single trip. Unverified accounts cannot take bookings.

  • Pay only after the trip

No prepayment, no deposit, no card details. You hand the agreed fare to the driver in cash once the trip is finished.

  • Fares agreed in the app

Offers and counter-offers happen inside GariGhora and are capped at a couple of rounds. The fare you accept is the fare you pay — no bait-and-switch at the pickup point.

  • A real person on every booking

Your Gari Bhai — a GariGhora operations agent — is assigned to your booking, calls both you and the driver to confirm the details, and stays reachable until the trip is done.

  • Ratings on both sides

Passengers rate drivers and drivers rate passengers after every completed trip. Only completed trips can be reviewed, so ratings mean something.

  • Support during the trip

One tap from your active trip screen reaches support, plus a phone number for anything urgent on the road.

Something wrong on the road? Call the support line — +880 1XXX-XXXXXX — and a Gari Bhai will pick it up.

If something goes wrong

Tell us, and tell us early

A trip that felt unsafe, a driver who asked for more than the agreed fare, a booking that never showed up — all of it should come to us rather than being sorted out at the roadside.

How to reach us fast

  • During a trip: use the support button on the active trip screen, or call +880 1XXX-XXXXXX.
  • After a trip: report it from the booking in your history, so the trip record is attached automatically.
  • Anything else: the contact page, or support@garighora.com.

In an emergency, call the emergency services first. Then call us so we can act on the booking.

Travel with someone accountable

Verified drivers, an agreed fare, and a Gari Bhai who knows your booking by name.
